UPWYL is a four-day program held in conjunction with Tony Robbins Unleash the Power Within event. Youth ages 14-17 participate in Unleash the Power Within as a collective group with event-experienced Captains. UPW Youth Leadership takes place year-round around the world.

We accept teens from 14-17 years-old that are in good academic standing, have completed 20 hours of community service and demonstrate leadership skills and/or a desire to grow those skills. See the next section for more specific application requirements.

Teens accepted into the UPWYL program will join peers their own age and work together to process their learnings as a group with adult Captains. These Captains are on-hand with the group to guide teens throughout the event.

At UPWYL, teen participants experience Tony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within with other teens, in a group, sitting and participating together. If the event is virtual, the teens are in their own private virtual room with the Captains. The benefit of this is that they make deeper connections with fellow peers with a similar mindset for growth.

No, teens participate with other peers and Captains during UPW. Each attendee’s Guardian is responsible for accommodations and transportation to and from the program each day. A guardian must be available and on call but is asked to refrain from checking during the program hours so the youth can “play full out”. Guardians cannot volunteer with The Tony Robbins Foundation if their child is participating at UPWYL.

UPWYL takes place at all upcoming Unleash the Power Within events but space is limited so be sure to apply early. The next UPWYL session will take place in person in Cologne, Germany September 5-8 and in person in Newark, New Jersey, USA November 14-17.

Times correspond to the Unleash the Power Within event timing. Expect early mornings and late evenings each day. The times of Unleash the Power Within often go longer than what is on the event info sheet.

GYLS and UPW YL can be attended in any order as long as all the application requirements are met. UPWYL cannot be attended more than one time.

Participant fee is $250 USD and includes Unleash the Power Within admission, program materials, supplies and more. Please note: If accepted into the program, the program fee is non-refundable within 60 days prior to the event.
